Update
So Mike went back to the Dr. today, and got his staples out (he even took some out himself!). The Dr. said it looked good and to come back in 4 weeks to see if he could start putting some weight on it! Yeah! I can't wait! Hopefully this will all be over soon and or lives can go back to being some what normal! In the meantime, we're getting more used to our routine and we got our Aflac check today and that was REALLY nice!

Curious Tanner
I swear, these days NOTHING is out of Tanner's reach! He can get into almost anything, and does! As I'm typing, he's standing on the fireproof safe, with two toys in his hands trying to get to the wires on my computer! Pretty much everything is baby proofed around here, so that helps, but we still spend a lot of time saying "No, no Tanner!" Here's a few pics of him getting into everything!
This is Tanner in the fridge! It's his favorite right now, since it's like uncharted territory! You can hear him come "running" every time you open the door!
And getting into my cookie sheets!

Mike's Doing Better!
Mike seems to be doing better now! He went to see the Dr. again Friday and they took off the splint and said everything looked good. Now he gets to wear a moon boot, which he says is sooo much better. He still can't put any weight on it or get it wet until the staples (yes, I said staples!) are removed, but he's says the pain is better. Not great, but better! Below are some pics I took Saturday when I changed his sock. If you don't like gory things, you might not want to look. I don't think it's bad, but some might, so don't say I didn't warn you!

Better.....
Mike has been out of surgery for a while now, and he's doing better. There was a little bit of nausea, and a tiny nap (for him), but otherwise pretty uneventful. He found Smokey and the Bandit on TV and then he was fine! We'll get to go home in the morning, and miss a day or two of work, and after that we're totally flying by the seat of our pants! So if you don't hear from me for a while, it's because I'll be a little more busy for a little while! I'll try to keep everyone up to date, but I can't promise anything!! Hope to talk to you soon! And hopefully we'll both get some sleep tonight!!
Quicky
So for those of you who don't know, we're sitting in the hospital right now waiting for Mike to wake up from surgery. He broke his ankle last night in three places and has a spiral fracture. He had to have 7 screws and a plate put in. They say he might get to go home tonight, but we'll have to see about that. Hopefully he's in a lot less pain tonight than he was last night! I'll update more later.

A Much Needed Day of Rest!
So we're all home today, and it's kinda nice, but it kinda sucks! Tanner's been awfully grouchy with his double ear infection, and Mike's mostly laying around with a bit of a flu bug. I decided to stay home since I was up with Tanner during the night and I didn't want to send him to Abby's with as grouchy as he is. I guess maybe I'm a little spoiled since Tanner's normally a very content and happy baby, even with an ear infection, but this one is worse for some reason and he's letting us know about it! So I'm here trying to take care of my two boys, but unfortunately for Mike, Tanner really wants to snuggle with him today. Maybe they feel each others pain? I took Tanner to the Dr. yesterday, and she prescribed some antibiotics for him, but he only takes them once a day and I can't wait to give him today's dose. Hopefully it will make him feel better...in the mean time he's getting regular doses of tylenol and motrin.
Since Abby had to go and bring it up ;), Mike and I have started the New Year's Challenge, but with all this stuff going on, we're off to a rocky start! She thinks he's getting an unfair advantage losing weight with the help of the flu, but I bet he doesn't see it that way! I wanted to go workout yesterday, but I was at the Dr. office and HyVee for almost 2 hours, so hopefully today. We'll have to see how the day goes. Hope everyone else out there is feeling better than we are!

Our Fur Babies!
The boys sleeping in bed together. Front to back: Oswald, then Memphis, then Roscoe.

Oswald has taken to Tanner's new recliner!! It's just his size, too!

For those of you who haven't met my other babies, these are my fur babies!! I'm as such an animal lover, I put these guys on pretty much the same level as people. There's Roscoe, the Jack Russell, Oswald, the short haired wiener dog, and the baby Memphis, the long haired wiener dog. They're all so similar, and yet they all have totally different personalities. Roscoe's my super smart, polite, grumpy old man! Oswald is a little skittish, but has never met a stranger! He will snuggle with anyone!! And last, but not least, is Memphis. He's just plain crazy! He is not polite when it comes to food and bones, but he can be the sweetest dog you ever met when he's in the mood to snuggle! And he LOVES to chew!!! He's always getting into trouble for eating random things: wood chips, Tanner's toys, paper, blankets, baseboards on my walls, the other dogs city ID tags while they're wearing them!! They sure keep life interesting around here and I wouldn't have it any other way!!
